For a space-themed Pepsi event at the University of Texas A&M, I created names for alcoholic drinks which combined Pepsi with cultural aspects of Texas A&M. With a student population of nearly 63,000, Texas A&M is the largest university in Texas. Plus, as all Texans know, Aggies—people who attend A&M—take their culture extremely seriously until the day they died. So, I had to research the depths of this university to come up with some out-of-this-world names that spoke to Aggies. Alas, due to COVID-19 the event was cancelled. But the reps from Pepsi and Texas A&M loved the names. Here are some highlights:

Fig’Em Basil
A combination of the Aggie cry, “Gig ’em,” and a classic Fig and Basil cocktail.

Cherries on the Ross
“Pennies on Sully” Ross is a common Texas A&M tradition. Aggies place pennies on the shoe of the stature of revered former president, Lawrence Sullivan “Sul” Ross. I mixed the tradition with a Cherries on the Rocks drink, making, “Cherries on the Ross”.

Howdy from Outer Space
Aggies are known for giving everyone they meet on campus a friendly, “Howdy!” Naturally, I took the space theme an imagined an Aggie astronaut lifting his glass in an intergalactic cheers and saying, “Howdy” to everyone on earth below.
