What is a former literature teacher doing in advertising? Paronomasia: Pun-making, the art of Shakespeare, Kendrick Lamar, and a copywriter. I love cultivating words to create fun and beautiful imagery and engage with readers—whether they are consumers on a phone or students in a classroom. Samsung: reddit and TikTok

Social Copy

I wrote this self-aware and sarcastic reddit copy for the pre-launch of Galaxy S22 Series. Following reddit guidelines, this ad hits nearly all the 300 characters (299) and it makes fun of itself, which fits reddit culture. This goal of this ad was to drive people to pre-order the phone at Verizon, and one of the key campaign messages for the Galaxy S22 Series was “this phone breaks all the rules,” so I wrote an ad that “breaks all the rules”.

This ad breaks the rules of advertisement. It doesn’t tell you how epic the new Galaxy S22 Series is. It doesn’t mention Nightography, which lets you take brilliant photos at night. It doesn’t encourage you to pre-order it now at Verizon. This ad breaks all the rules – just like Galaxy S22 Series.

I also created in-video ad TikTok copy for the launch of the Galaxy S22 Series, this time driving TikTok users to by the phone at T-Mobile.

Marinela USA, Gansito USA, and Pingüinos: Instagram and Facebook

I was one of the main creatives for the Facebook and Instagram pages of Marinela USA and Gansito Marinela USA. Besides the copy on the image, I also wrote and edited the post copy. The Marinela brand’s social media presence is extremely successful, with $0.45 cost per like. My work includes posts that have had +25 million reach and nearly 8% engagement rates. I was even featured in a post that had over 1 million views.

R.I.P. … This piece was killed, but it is still one of my “favorites”.

Yes… I am in this next video. It received over 1.2 million views on Instagram. So I guess I’m kind of famous… but not really. Basically, I asked my mom to video me doing silly ways to exercise and multitask during the pandemic. My colleagues did the editing.

Barcel USA

I helped put the sell in Barcel USA by working on social media posts and commercials with Barcel Brands, including Ricolino Vero Candies, Coronado USA, and Artisan Style chips. In 2020, Coronado entered into the top ten of its category, and Vero candies introduced a partnership with famous Takis chips—the new Vero Takis Lollipop.
